Okay so decided to remove my rear badges stopped half way though to the car starting to look stupid
Left cento on because that's what I refer to it as was gonna keep it just cinq bur the c had snapped
Although at a later date when I figure out how to sort the paint all the badges will be getting removed but err yeah how do I sort the paint out tried thinners nothing why has it pitted ?
Don't really want to attempt the rest until I can figure out this as it's starting to make the car look silly an noticeable

You will need to clean the area as much as possible before attempting to use a compound polish on it. You can get tar remover from somewhere like Halfords or use panel wipe. Try using a clay block to remove as much crap as possible as well.
 
Washed it ..put thinners on a rag an cleaned it too buffed it an now it looks worse as the paint is pitted thinking about just bogging bits an painting the boot

Try a claybar. I recently did our Sei and was astounded at how good it looked afterwards. Doesn't have to be an expensive one, I used this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121340590540?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT but search on Google and Youtube before doing it so you know what you are doing. For lube I filled and old shampoo bottle with about 25% turtlewax and topped with water, just keep squirting where you are working. I bet once you start you'll do the whole car and everyone will think you've had a respray.

By the looks of it, the top surface is pitted. Probably due to the fact that that area is difficult to clean and is a magnet for muck and all sorts of nasties. No compound or clay will solve the problem, they may improve it but not get rid completely. If its not to deep you might try flatting the area down with 1500-2000 grit wet and dry, then compound and polish. But be careful not to rub through.
Fiat decided not to add to weight by only using a thin layer of colour on the car.

If it was my car, I would flat the whole boot lid down and respray with clear coat, but that's me.

Start by making sure that all traces of adhesive are gone, don't just use any old solvent. Some solvents such as thinners will damage paint if used excessively, after all, that's their job to thin paint. Use a panel degreaser, also known as panel wipe. This won't damage paint and is used in body shops to prep before painting. Get you're wet and dry paper with a bucket of clean water, with just a dash of detergent in it. Washing up liquid is ok.
Work on the area and spread out to cover an area roughly twice the size of the damaged part. Stop now and again and wipe down with a sponge (again clean), just to check you're progress. Once done and you're happy, clean the area with panel wipe to remove any traces of detergent, and cut with g3 compound. Move on to g10 and polish in the normal way.

That's what I did and you wouldn't know there was ever a sticker there.

Being ex motor trade, and grew up with a father who used to rebuild maseratis,and ferraris. I will give you some advice on who to find to respray it.

If you know someone in the trade that's great. But be wary of people who will do it for less than about £400. Try to see some of there work first and don't accept anything less than a tidy job. If it looks like crap, or they use phrases like, " you won't notice that when it's outside" get them to do it again. Keep an eye on overspray on windscreen rubbers etc, and budget about £30 per dent on top of painting it. Anyone worth the money won't want to spray over dents and rust, but may not notice little imperfections until they do the job.

I've seen so many people try to convince me (and themselves) that there car looks good, after a mate of a mate re sprayed it for £150 and it looks like they sprayed it in a sandpit with a gale force wind.

To have a car with a fresh paint job, that looks really clean is great, but don't pay through the nose for it. To keep costs down, you can do quite a bit yourself, eg take bits off, or mask stuff ready.

Any thoughts on colour? By the looks of it, it looks a really good colour as is. I had a mini 1000 in a similar colour (pageant blue). In the sunshine it looked immaculate. Cost me £750 to do it, (did it myself, so you can imagine what it was like before) but wow was it worth it.

Even my little white cinq gets compliments, and that's not a patch on what the mini looked like. So get it done and make you're face go :D
 
Love minis got 3 myself a clubman estate an 2 city's but yeah love the colour wanting a blow over on the lookout for a blue replacement wing and getting the rest of the car done
