Over the last few days I've been having trouble with the Multijet at about 2,500 rpm for about a mile or two as though I have "kangaroo juice" & the engine seems to lose power.
When I started tonight a padlock symbol came on & remained on till I restarted again.
Does anyone know what the problem is & what padlock warning light means?

Not sure about your kangarooing (I guess that could be a host of things) but I've got a feeling my Stilo does a little padlock when it thinks the battery is flat in the remote fob; usually it's lying of course! I wouldn't put 2 and 2 together though, I don't think this would affect the immobilser or anything, I'm sure the circuit does need any power to work.

my punto multijet was was doing the same thing, I called out the aa man. His diagonistic software wouldnt read my car, BUT he drained off the bottom of my fuel filter, and its been fine every since INFACT, its never ran better. To give you a guide the car has done 40 k miles, but I dont know when the filter was last changed, as I didnt buy it new.

Hi there just got my multijet back from Fiat padlock was on the dash and car would not start, the ? plip ? ie the remote locking key had gone down and forgot its code so immobalizer would not turn off, try using the standard key and see if it sorts it out, if so new remote/battery needed ? maybee Alan.

99.9% of the time I use the standard key but my main problem is the "kangaroo Juice" at 2,500rpm for about the first five miles.

This sometimes happens to me too, when it's starting to warm up, after a mile or so. As I understand it, the engine refuses to rev over 2500 until it has warmed up. I suspect it is getting confused about which fuel map to use when it is neither warm nor cold. Just a guess.
