i would recommend buying a cheap run about. I have just picked up a little 306hdi for peanuts, the older xud (mechanical pump) engines can be bought very cheap and are cracking engines.

Is that the one that can be run on veggie oil? I have a mate who runs a chip shop, so I may be able to get new clean veggie oil quite cheap.

I can see the appeal in doing that, saving money and sticking 2 fingers up at the government with their fuel tax at the same time. :D

be careful with veggie oil. The cars run on it fine, although a little bit of smell. However the oil often fails to lubricate the fuel pump effectively and can lead to big bills. There was a guy in the bravo/brava section who killed his pump this way.

saying this though, I think there are ways to refine it...

Not only are they restrictive and poor at what the do, they can also kancker the thrust bearing in the turbo, as it will be working harder to provide the same boost.

I would ebay it.

well i just found that qoute funny!
well i guess every thing is pointing me to ebay it then, i hope you all have taken into mind the car will be having a bigger turbo aswell as a re-map and other parts, making the car hopfully 300bhp+
the others said only use if car has bigger turbo...

Interesting read. I may have to sign up to the FCCUK. I'm quite new to this forum lark!
