Technical P0512 Fault Code

Hi, On our 500L Trekking (2014) we have a fault that appears every few months (it's appeared twice since we've owned the car). The engine warning light will come on and it will say check engine when we start the car. The car seems to start fine though.

I connected my ODBC2 connector and the fault code shows as P0512 which indicates Starter Request Circuit. This could have been stored for a while as we've only had the car for a few months. Has anyone else had this fault code and what did you do to rectify it?

I've got that code too, wouldn't start, got a push it started. Happened twice now, might be a dud starter of bad earth I'm thinking. Need to park on a hill meantime...
