Thinking about buying a large capacity outboard storage device, or whatever it's called. Amazon have a Philips 1TB thingy for £95 and a Western Digital whatsit for £100. Does anybody know if those are good prices; or even good equipment?

Thanks for the replies. I asked the question and then forgot I'd posted it until tonight. You're right , I did mean an external hard drive. I know 1TB is a lot of storage and maybe I won't need it all, but I've got 30+ years of magazines and catalogues which at the moment are 2 foot deep in a 10' X 10' lock up so finally I've bowed to the inevitable and am planning to get rid. Apparently they can be disposed of on ebay. What I want to do is scan them all and then get rid, possibly getting some money for them.

I was thinking that....

Page by page would take months of solid scanning, especially as you said you have 30+ years worth to get through!
