okay i drive a GRANDE PUNTO 1.4 16V GP, just for abit of fun yesterday i possed as a rich, spoilt, daddys boy and walked in to a VW garage with so say a £25k budget.

i took a VW SCIROCCO 2.0 TSI out, and at just over 200 BHP, and a DSG box, you can literally light the tyres up when you put your foot to the floor.

fancy letting an 18 year old take a 28k car out, funny thing was he didnt ask for my age, i also didnt show any driving license. haa.

95 MPH on a dual carriageway, 30 seconds after getting behind the wheel.
''if you want, floor it'' the chap said.
AWESOME.

anyone tested anything better?!

Vauxhall Astra VXR 240bhp though the front wheels. Anything more than the lightest of touches in 1st or second gear causes masses of torque steer and sends the traction control into hyperdrive :)

Was a good fun drive but couldn't live with it on a daily basis, crazy insurance, tax, tyres and fuel bills.

im test driving the ABARTH in cardiff next saturday, i could get use to the TEST DRIVE life.

Your 18 you are not normally insured to test drive cars under 21 or 22 i believe. So you get pulled you get done for driving without insurance. Fair enough the garages should make the necessary checks, but if something happens whilst you are driving that car it could get the dealership shut down.
Do you really want the burdon of numerous people loosing their jobs so you can have a bit of fun, loose your license and whaever else may happen if you crash the car. :bang:

My best credit was a 400hp Jag. Was rather fun

I have driven something more powerful though - only has 300hp or so, but over 1000 Ibft of torque. It was a Leyland Wright bus

A bit left field this, but how about a Dodge Ram pick up truck.....with a 5.9 Cummins Turbocharged and Intercooled diesel. Not one of your common or garden B-Series, but one to Marine Spec. In other words, 480 bhp and 1300 Nm of torque.

It had so much torque in fact that after it had stopped spinning its rear wheels in 4th, at full throttle in 5th it just slipped its clutch.

my tipo is probably more powerful than that ;) or at least close. depends how you measure power. in BHP i win, probably...

actually maybe not, is this one of the ones with 225bhp?

the only car i've test driven from a garage is a Mazda MX3 1.6 16v, didn't like it much, felt too long geared the engine seemed quite revvy in nature but not especially exciting, and the brakes felt unnatural they worked fine but lacked the feedback/response i'm used to. but my brother bought it.
