General ouside temperature gauge

the gauge on my speedo is showing ---- instead of 2c etc
does anyone know if there is a sensor in the engine bay?

i thought the o/s temp sensor was that little lump under the offside mirror

yes you where right jai
but its the nearside (passenger side ) mirror I whacked mine driving down a street and someone had left a wheely bin right at the kerb adge with the handle sticking out
I have now replaced the mirror and the gauge is working ok
