diesel over 40c per litre cheaper! :)
are you out of town driving? with that l/100km i would say so. if so in the GP sport you'd prob be getting approx 5l/100km, i get 5.5 doing 110km/h on cruise. and that's on cars that haven't even done 1000km (arent i the lucky smart as5 with constant new cars! :D )

Are you serious!? If diesel was 40c per litre cheaper I'd go buy one today! (Maybe :p)

Yes my route is about 65% cruising at 100km/h, only 3 sets of traffic lights. Only a bit of traffic on Friday arvos.

You are very lucky indeed, but also extremely helpful..thanks mate (y)

Ok, this is bringing back some seriously bad memories..

Turned the car on yesterday, ejected the CD, was about to put another CD in, then heard a few beeps, looked at the display, and it flashed "Check transmission, check handbook". Put CD in, then it went away.

No problems since then.. but :(

What have you done about it though Kev?

Nothing yet, cos its only happened once and I can't replicate it (yet). I'll mention it to the dealer when I take it in for first service next month - let's see if they can fault it.

I think you should get a Diploma from Fiat Kev, for continuing ( allegedly) the Aus dualogic field development programme:D

Regards

Just happened again

This time in heavy traffic, and I wasn't prepared to risk "Our 5.5 hour ordeal with two month old GP Dualogic" episode 3. I stared at the display angrily and it went away a few seconds later.

Hey T would this have registered as an error code, so when its in for its first service they should be able to see what the problem is?

Luvduvs.

Have you dealt directly with Fiat Australia (Ateco Automotive Pty Ltd) re your problem?

I have several problems with my Punto which from reading these pages are obviously design faults that affected are large number of vehicles leaving the factory in Italy. Many of these common problems must be well known by Fiat (Italy) and I assume, as they provide a warranty on their vehicles, that they must have also designed repairs to recitify common faults.

My dealer in Perth claims to be in contact with Fiat Australia regarding my Punto's defects and acting under their adivice to try and fix them. However their fix for every single one of my Punto's defects (and there has been many) is to lubricate it or reset the computer and the problem doesn't get fixed.

It is no wonder then that here we are on an online forum getting advice from UK based mechanics on how to fix our cars so we can advise our Australian dealers what to do. Shouldn't Fiat Australia be doing this??

Hey guys,
Please list out the faults you are having.
I can try to help as i am in NZ and deal with the same cars as what you are driving (spec, models etc).

List the faults and anything that has been done to fix it

Cheers

You obviously haven't read my episodes ;)

I really don't feel like bashing Fiat AU/Ateco anymore cos I've done enough of that since owning a GP, but from my experiences with them and their dealrs they're inexperienced + arrogant (i.e. think they're always right & won't take advice from anyone else).

Oops did I just bash them again?

Good to see you posting again fiatdownunder! My problem is listed below (and btw it did it again just then - i.e. twice in one day).

dont forget peeps - you can turn off the beeps
I turned off the warning beep but put it back on at the lowest setting as I sometimes forget to start in neutral & it serves its purpose

Does that mean you still get alerted? If not I wouldn't do that, cos if something's not right or if I'm screwing something up, then I want to know about it.

you still get alerted by flashing onscreen, if you get an error & the beeps drive you mad you can just turn it off, particularly if you can still drive the vehicle

Yes.....but if it doesn't 'see' that fault again after so many ignition on/off's it will delete...drop by & get them to read the error(s).

(remember I have full diagnostic litreature here & got good tech mate in sydney)
