so i put a gearbox on my car about 3 weeks ago and the input shaft bearing was noisy but got told to leave it and its finally gone, just wondering if anyone knows were theres any mark 1 punto sportings near hull as i need a gearbox, the 55 and 60sx are different or so ive been told, well the back engine/gearbox mount is, also need a drive shaft so does anyone no if the driveshafts on the 55 and 60sx are the same as the sporting ............ cheers ?

If the bearing has gone, why not just replace it?

AFAIK, 55 and 60 use the same gearbox (there may be internal gearing or final drive differences, though).

The 1.6, I've not a clue. I'd expect a completely different gearbox and driveshafts (it's a different family of engine).

Allspares have a few puntos in and i think its the same gearbox not 100% shure

mine ist a 1.6 its a 1.2 sporting and you cant replace the bearing without completely stripping the box like cogs and diff the lot, no-were near me will do it cheap enough so it works out cheaper to get a new box, and wilko think im just gunna take mine into all spares and match it up see if they are the same

I'm pretty sure that's not true in the case of the input shaft. All 1.2 boxes are interchangeable, driveshafts should be as well. The boxes often find better homes in Centos............
