OT What is it with Volvos?

Is the light switch stuck on all models of volvos, they always seem to have their lights on regardless?

its normal. i think in sweden they have to have their sidelights on day or night, so they come on with the ignition.

Yup, due to Swedens extra long nights in winter, the law there states that all cars must have their lights on whatever time of day it is. Volvo just set them automatically on dipped with the ignition.

And a good idea it is, too!

No tossers driving round at dusk/early morning/in heavy rain with no lights on at all!!

Personally, I think it should be a law everywhere, because like Mark says, you won't get the tossers driving in the early morning rain thinking just coz it's gone 5am, everyone can see them !

Florida has a similar law but only when it rains.

It doesn't cost anything and could save a few lives.

yep, parents got a old volvo 240 and and sidelight are on nomatter what you do!

Saabs have a fuse you can remove to dissable that feature.

I think sidelights should be removes entirely, how many morons do you see driving along with just sidelights on when its properly dark?

its the same in norway... its the law to be on... they have MUCH stricter laws on speeding too though...

I just came back from a 2 week overland trip in Europe which started in the UK. I spent 4 days in plymouth and my God....i never so the flamin sun except on posters on the travel agents windows which were advertising Malta.
