I found the following picture somewhere on the internet and saw that the jack was a shade of green. I had a quick look at mine (which is black) and noticed that in the hard to reach areas there were bits bits of green paint.

It looks to me that these jacks were originally green.

In the name of originality is anyone aware if there is a FIAT colour name or code? The nearest match I found in Halfords was a Ford green.

Hi Stuart I think they came in different colours black, green or in my case grey. Mine was definitely grey to start with so it went back to that colour when I repainted it. Yes the top is left unpainted.

That would be my jack I think.

When I stripped the jack to clean it up there were a couple of patches of the original green that were quite 'fresh' looking. I took it to a paint shop, they wheeled out the 'old guy' from the back room and he mixed up a small qty for me by eye.

It was amazing to watch him do this, he was really close with his first attempt and then just got closer and closer by adding small tints. I don't have a paint code as such.

I have seen some painted black, I believe this was an original color for the later cars. (mine is a 69 F)

Top was originally plain metal, almost looked galvanised or plated. I am missing the sticker that is available now.
