Just about to put the italian flag stripe up the centre of my car.
Facing the front the green is on the left, normally I would continue this down the rear. I'm at a quandry whether to reverse the rear so green is on the left when standing behind.
Thought for this is I want to put the colours under the fiat logo on the rear and it wouldn't look right if this had green on left and the main stripe was other way round whats peoples thoughts?

It's personal choice, really. But when it's done as a factory spec. styling accent on other Italian cars such as Lambos and Ferraris, the stripe stays in its configuration over the entire length.
Maybe consider an ofset stripe? Then there wouldn't be the same visual cue to disrupt the pattern...

Why not be on-trend and use red, white and blue instead. ;)

It might look good if you arranged the colours to "change lane" mid-roof, similar to a motorway sign. The image doesn't do what I'm thinking, but maybe gives you the idea of a graphic you could achieve?.
