Panda 100HP or Bravo T-Jet hmm tough choice!
sure you will enjoy either one

Well it'll be a while till we buy something else, July at least I reckon if not the july after. Personally I think the Bravo makes more sense as we've already got a small car so two small cars just isn't as practical/sensible when one of them is replacing a saloon with a massive boot.

It is amazing what you can get in a Panda though. All the space is useable i.e no curves.
I know I have sold my 100hp, but I'd still highly recommend one. Loads of standard kit as opposed to having to pay extra for it, although that of course is academic as it's now out of production.

Well we tried a BNW one and whilst it's more practical the wife isn't 100% sold on the looks and I suspect it's the sort of car that on Monday she'll walk out and like and for the rest of the week she'll dislike it. Not a good long term proposition!

She was quite happy with the engine, very happy in fact but she feels that the 500 was more stable at speed and she said that she preferred the way her Subaru handles (I did say that she should just take it somewhere, give them a wad of cash and get a mint condition Subaru back). I think it's just not the car for her, it's the sort of car for someone who's a very keen driver and likes to take the car out and drive it just for the sake of driving it and that's just not her tbh  She somehow still manages to see the postman pat boggo spec Panda underneath the bodykit and nice wheels! Silly I know

She doesn't seem at all interested in the Bravo but I know if she was in the drivers seat she'd feel very differently about it.

Sadly didn't get to testdrive either the twinair or the Bravo.

If we didn't already have the 500 I think the 100hp would definitely be considered but sensible Daniel thinks that something bigger and more practical is in need.

Booked the 500 in for some warranty work today.

Leather on the drivers seat has stretched
Both breather pipes are cracked
One way valve which means water only squirts out of either the front or rear washers is broken, it squirts a little bit of water from the front washer
There is also a little bit of oil on the throttle body where he intake pipe meets up with it. The guy said this could be the breather pipe but we'll see.

Nothing major and all will be fixed, though they are only going to have a look at the seat so lets see if this turns into something I have to call Fiat CS about or whether they just replace it as it does look rather crap.

Big breather pipe cracked

Little breather pipe cracking

Oil on the throttle body (only really noticed when I saw a pic of someone elses who had a cracked breather pipe and it was completely clean)

Just a picture I took on the weekend

Hopefully it'll be all good news next Friday :)

P.S does anyone know if I can still reject the car after nearly 24k miles and 20 months? Would it be worth calling the CAB? :D

...leather stretched...

Great pictures. It is good that you've 'caught' the deterioration in the nick of time. Your seat was the same as mine. When I raised this with the dealer last month it was going to a 'long journey' to get it re-instated. Since you're the only owner of the 500 your claim will be much stronger. A lot of people have been refused repair/replacement on the basis of normal wear and tear. I was told off the record that it depends 'how important you are'. Anyway my car is gone so it will never be done. P.S. The multi-spokes look immaculate ! P.P.S The hot 100bhp Panda might be the one.

Well in that case Maxi will be getting a new Maybach free of charge.

:p

Yes the multispokes are immaculate :) My policy of not rubbing them against kerbs is paying off (y) Never quite understood the point in alloys if you're just going to run them up against kerbs all the time, just get bloody steelies!!!

Last year I rejected a laptop I'd bought 21 months previously from Comet - it failed due to an inherently defective component & couldn't be repaired. Comet refused to accept any liability but after taking action against them in the County Court, I eventually got back the cost of the laptop plus costs, less a deduction for the use I'd had from it.

I was joking of course ;)

Out of interest how much did the laptop cost and how much was deducted for use after court?

Approx. £650 initial cost & £250 deducted for fair use. The view was taken that a laptop should reasonably be expected to last 5 years, & I'd had 2 years use, so a 2/5th deduction. Got all my costs in full, but nothing for the time I'd had to spend pursuing the case.

Comet settled out of Court, but only after I'd paid the allocation fee & filed an independent engineer's report stating that, on balance of probability, the laptop was inherently defective & doomed to fail from the time it was first purchased.

Leather isn't as stretched as mine, you have to expect some stretching.

I can remember sitting in the showroom when I ordered mine, trying to decide whether to go for the leather option. My wallet won the day, but for a time it was a decision I regretted - now, having seen some of the pics here, I'm glad I didn't go for it.

Interestingly the leather in my previous Ka was still looking reasonable when I sold it after 10yrs & 102000 miles. Not perfect & showing a few stretch marks, but nowhere near starting to tear. The leather steering wheel was another matter & started to disintegrate after about 4 years; it was in a dreadful state by the end.

Remembering this, I usually wear gloves when driving my 500.
