Optimax?

Had a problem with my car last month, kept cutting out when cold on a morning, then it went away, or so I thought. This happened after I had filled it up with optimax. Didn't use optimax for a while, went to Scottish coast for new year so even colder, had not filled it up with Optimax once whilst there - it was fine all the way back to West Yorkshire. Filled it up with optimax last week, the problem is back again. Not pointing any fingers at Shell (they have bigger lawyers than me), so you can make your own assumptions.
They say it was developed with Ferrari, thats great cos we all drive Ferrari's, maybe Shell should have got the lift to the next floor to see Mr Fiat.

There's something fishy about it....

My Punto is in the garage today being hooked up to the diagnostics machine. I filled up with Optimax and the engine management failure light came on accompanied by rough idling and 'kangarooing'. When I switched back to regular fuel it was fine again. I told the service manager this and he mentioned something about different octane levels but I have put super unleaded through before and it runs fine (although it's a waste of money as it makes no difference).

Invitation to Shell!

If anyone from SHELL reads this page, what are your comments?

No Problems at all but...

Hi there;

As I said I have no probs & using the Optimax for 2 years (aka V-power in Turkey).

But there's something... As U know this fuel has the cleaning power on the input valves. The cleaned/ripped off carbon particuls can cause some troubles on your fuel & injection system by clogging... but, as they say this is an known issue and it's NOT permanent ! The slightly clogged system will be better if U just keep on using this fuel. U'll get rid of those carbon stuff soon, be patient.

Hope this helps...
