Hi all!

Just a quickie. I need someone to tell me the size and pitch of a bolt if possible. The bolt in question is the rear upright seat locking post. It screws directly into the side of the body and when loose allows a metal captive bracket to wobble about.
Basically, I don't have any rear seats or the original bolt and I want standard bolts to tighten and stop the brackets from rattling (they make a bloody racket!) :bang:
I've tried M12 1.25 and it's not right. Help would be appreciated :)

Also, I'm selling the alloys that came with the car cos a; they're too big and b; yet again they're a botch from the previous owner being PCD100 with wobble bolts and a 10mm spacer.
I'm taking delivery of 4 original Fiat steel wheels fitted to an 899cc Seicento.
I want to know what colour to paint them

Cheers peeps (y)

p.s. here's some piccies of recent progress

Sorry can't help with the technical stuff, but thought I'd say the prokect is looking gooooood. Can't wait for the finished result...will be fab!

Is it not possible to remove the bracket Nick? M12 is big.. Can't think which bracket your on about.. the clip for the seats?

Colour for the new wheels, I think black will look best against a yellow body.. cant imagine silver/grey. Or white perhaps?

And could you post or PM me a pic of the alloys please

And again, looking brill!

Na, it's on the inside of the body fastened inside folded steel. And yup, it is the rear seat pin. It's what the rear seat clips locks on to.

Here's a pic of the alloys mate. I'm after £25 each as I fully reconned them.

Donno if i'm barking up the wrong bush here, but couldnt you put a washer on the bolt so the wobble nut has something to tighten up to?

Yea, he's no longer the origional bolts. lol

Sheer chance would have it. I removed these from the donor 750L today. Is it just the bolts you need?

If so I could post them? Also got the seat holder/clips if you need them also.

PM me. Jon

Sorry, I don't have and don't want the original bolts cos they stick out 2 inches. However I can't leave them cos the captive nut rattles the house down. So I'm looking for the correct size and pitch so I can put in a normal flat-head bolt to hold the nut tight. (y)

Paint the wheels white!!!!!

It'll look fantastic! 4x4 anythings without white wheels just look like Chelsea tractors to me..... :D

Good work as usual; keep it up; I'm following this one closely as I may soon be in the same boat.

All the best.

Luke. (y)

Sorry can't help with the pitch but, as a stop gap couldn't you take MEP's and hacksaw them down to the required length.

Hi CT33,

Can you post a photo of the location of the rattly captive nut? I'm taking the Panda to work tomorrow, it should be easy enough to identify the offending article - I've got a set of thread pitch gauges.. :)

Cheers,

Plug

Right! looks like white or cream.
You know what, the last one's were white and looked ok but I'm thinking cream will look ace! Proper series 3'tastic :p

I'll get a picture of the captive nut tomoz peeps. To be honest, it's the only one that rattles! All the others are solid seatbelt holes. These are located just 6" above the rear wheel arches.

if you havn't sorted it already , try a squeeze of silicon or some other sealant from a mastic gun , through the hole , that will keep the nut from rattling
