Been happily adding miles to Manda and working through her list of rattles.
The parcel shelf is now quiet as is the driver‘s door window, the Selecta selector and the passenger door lock now tightened.
The rattle behind the dash, which moves on occasions has had me stumped. However, while changing the top part of the dash, I found the culprit. A tiny random bulb !

The end result is one less rattle and my only ever Classic Panda with illuminated switches. 👍🏼🐼

On the list for next week, new shocks all round, Speedo cable and CV joints.

I’ll be interested to know how you get on with the shocks and cv joints. Do you have a garage to work in?

I’m going to start on my Panda, head gasket blew more than 8 years ago and it’s been sat in a barn. Only moved it to our garage a couple of weeks ago, building up enthusiasm to start the job!

I will let you know how things progress. Manda has ‘borrowed a ramp’ locally, so she is dry and I’ll be warm-ish.

Good luck with the head gasket change, when your enthused enough to start it

Well, it’s been a while, with one thing and another but the new front shocks are finally on Manda. To say the old ones were knackered is an understatement.

Still struggling to locate rear shocks suitable for a Selecta and have ordered a pair which look identical to mine, though the website specifies not suitable for an auto. The ones which were meant to fit didn’t.

Plan B - if these don’t fit will be some Ridex rears.

New, posh internally adjustable drivers door mirror and non-cracked dash also fitted. 😀🐼

A rather belated update on Manda.….Finally, managed to get a set of rear shocks (Kayaba 441077, Fiat original number 71736466) from a very helpful guy based in Lithuania. These fitted perfectly and with new shocks all round she rides a lot better.

Even better, a new set of outer CV joints are winging their was to sunny Sussex as I type.

Manda had her first proper day out this year today And a nice tank of VPower too.

CV joints arrived safely (SKF VKJA 3179 P) and hopefully fitting today.

Mileage is increasing on the dashboard now thanks to the new Speedo cable, though it took a couple of miles to change from 105499 to 105400? then correctly to 105501. I guess where the digits haven’t moved in excess of 2 years they were a bit stiff.

Added just over 110 miles in the last week 🐼👍🏼

Happy days! CV joints replaced and now no squeaks (or should that be clicks) when turning, going round roundabouts or generally accelerating in anything other than a straight line.

Enjoyed my Tesco run this morning and may have, accidentally, on purpose, driven home the long way - along the coast road.

The Speedo briefly came to life this morning, hit 45mph, per SatNav Speedo and then went back to sleep. Will see how that goes….
