Have slowly been getting more problems over the last few months:
Back brake light regularly blows

no clock or interior light

Rev counter unreliable

Any help gratefully received!!

Hi Sorter

Clock could be the very small lamp (backlight) I got a replacement from Halfords.

Internal lights could be a bad door switch. Try wiggling the contacts to see if it works. I have managed to strip a switch down and cleaned the spring contact. ( make sure if you dismantel a switch you don't lose the connector inside the pillar!!)

If the light does not come on no matter which door you open first try fuses. Failing that I would be stumped!

As for the brake light ??? I have replaced mine a few times and now carry a couple of spares.

not a clue about rev counter:confused:

GOOD LUCK
Donald

Have you got the radio code?

:yeahthat: also you may need to leave it on for 20 minutes if you have locked out the radio by entering the wrong code too many times (been there - done that!)

Take the radio so-far out to see if the code is writen on the top.

Any news Sorter with your problems?

P.S. T14086 glad to see you back :)

Hi

If you contact Fiat with car details plus proof of ownership they will, for a fee, tell you the code assuming the radio is the original fitted on production line. If not, then you can remove radio and take it to a specialist who can interrogate radio and extract the code. There are several radio decode ads on ebay but I find that none decode Philips radios which I believe was the original fit.

Yeah, seanb is right. Had the same problem with the radio code. Fiat will charge around £15 with proof of ownership. But check it is a Philips (the EEPROM needs to be read with Philips by a spec. reader and the code deciphered from that) as other brands of radio can be decoded with simple number generators (from the serial No.

I am not offering this service, but there are links to numerous sites including Ebay (cost of 99p) where you might be able to download the progs for free if you type in radio+code+fiat on a search engine.

It may take time but if you save £15 then it's worth it(y)

No interior lights is most likely to be the centre switch in the ceiling panel where the clock is. If this swith does not turn on the interia lights it is faulty. I swapped it for one of the other two switches. This is a common problem as found the solution in this forum a while ago.
