Following on from my days with a Punto Mk1 sporting, I have come back to the world of Fiat's with the girlfriends Grande Punto which we picked up this weekend.
Thanks to the Fiat Forum for wishing me a 'happy birthday' . Almost 21 again.
Thought I'd come back and say 'hi'. I joined this forum about 17 years ago (crikey! ) when I had a base model 1990 (H) Fiat Tempra 1.4 that ran on 3 cylinders. I ended up writing the poor thing off in April 2001 when I stuffed it into a breadvan VW Polo.
I haven't owned a Fiat since. Although in 2002 I 'almost' plumped for a W reg Fiat Marea 1.6 SX saloon that was up for sale for £4,995. You can probably tell I have a bit of a thing for booted Fiats that never sold well in the UK market. Indeed, one of my dream cars is a Fiat 130 saloon!
Anyhoo, I ended up buying a SEAT Ibiza 1.4 8v instead of the Marea. It was the more sensible option as I needed something cheap-ish to insure and I doubted the Marea would be that cheap to insure despite being the smallest engine...1.6 16v and 100 bhp would still shift.
I currently drive a Nissan Almera 2.2 diesel and I have spent far too much on it. I'm looking to trade down to a smaller car so a Fiat Panda may be on the cards for my next one. I loved my 2 classic Minis and I would like something small and revvy.
