Technical OK where is #1

Have a Fiat UNO 60S which needs a bit of TLC. It is running really rough. Have found timing specs etc but where is #1 plug. Is it the one closest to the distributor?

The timing mark on the flywheel seems to have merged into the background. Is there a quick fix to locating it?

#1 is always furtherest from the gearbox.

Is it a mk1 or mk2 (mk1 have bigger headlights and a black grill)
