car hasnt been started in? i dont know, its not that long but long enough so the battery went dead.

so it started first time made me happy but then i noticed it was running a bit dodgy, i ran it for about 20 minutes, then it started putting this black liquid out the exhaust then few seconds later the engine revs rose up a touch and out poured white smoke, then it cut out, and now wont start easily, it will but it does in the end, just takes a while and still chucking out white smoke

any ideas...

no thats like sitting in traffic cars need to be driven.a good drive will blow all the crap out

rev the balls off it, but as you have never changed the coolant, the head in sides could have corded away

i did a bit and it chucked out loads of smoke and loads of people were around so i layed off revving it lol

and would it matter putting redex in a nearly empty tank?

He is the one who filled the engine oil up to the upper end of the filling opening !

The 'white smoke' is steam and the 'black liquid' is this result of condensation of the steam in the exhaust, mixing with the carbon that will be hanging around. Both of these are normal conditions, and also somewhat climate-dependent.

Like custard boy, I doubt there is anything wrong and suggest a proper drive (maybe a good half-hour) before you try to do anything. Surely someone else you know can take it for a drive?
