Hello. I'm Rich, a first time Fiat 500 owner living in Italy. She's a 1970L named Bianca who needs a bit of TLC. Thanks and appreciate all the assistance in advance.

Hello I am brand new to the 500 scene and only brought 'Florence' a couple of weeks ago. She has recently been imported from Tuscany, hence the name. I'm pretty sure that she's a 500R with a 126A5.000 (594cc) engine but I'm still getting to grips will what the information on the VIN Plate means. I have got the original Italian log book but even some of that is hard to understand lol. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to buzzing around the beautiful Yorkshire Dales with the kids this summer. It would be great to meet up with some other owners to have a good old fashioned chin way and maybe even a couple of cheeky shandy's (y)

Good evening 'Idleboy'
The engine number is stamped on your engine at the rear, just to the right of the Fuel pump (and just ahead of the 'V' belt). If the number starts with:- 1216A5, you have a 594cc 500R/early 126 engine, and will have a Dynamo. If it starts with:- 126A1, you have a 652cc 126 engine, and it will have an alternator. If the chassis number is between 110F.5096796 and 110F.5231518 it was built in Sicily. If the chassis number is between:- 110F612065 and 110F6154362 it was built by Autobianchi (who used to build the Giardiniera and Giardy based vans among other things).
Where about in the Yorkshire Dales do you live? I live just 200yds INSIDE Wales in a place called Saltney---just outside Chester. I am trying to slowly gather a list of the 500 owners who live 'oop north'

Good evening hobbler

Thanks for the information. My engine number starts with 126a5 so I'm now pretty sure I've got a 594cc 500R/early 126 engine. My chassis number is 110F.5146314 which would suggest it was built in Sicily - that great to know as I used to live in Malta as a child, and Sicily was just over the water. Can you tell from my chassis number if my car was built in 72 or 73. I've got the original Italian log book (see picture) but it seems to have a date for 72 and a date for 73 - I'm not sure which is the registration date. Any help would be appreciated.
