What are the best wiper blades to buy ?

my front driver side is smeering and squeeking and my rear wiper blade is a bit dodgy, i was going to nip to mchalfords tomorow and buy a new set but i was told i should get a silicon wiperblade which i like the idea of.

any suggestions of brands or types of blade and where i can get them from ? if i can avoid a trip to mchalfords i will be pleased, parking up alongside those 106's nova's and corsas with semi painted superglued bodykits on them make my bravo sad :(

Hellfords universal cut to length blades. I swear by them!

Sounds like you have some oil on your screen so get some good windscreen cleaner, the hellfords cream cleaner is very good, and clean it between taking the old ones off and fitting the new ones.

I think all wiper blades are silicone rubber these days.

Tom is right,
or you can get some sexy silver S-Type blades from Evolution or most tuning shops.

Re: Re: Re: Ok lame question i know but..

trip to mchalfords then i suppose :(

although it will give me an opportunity to go the speaker wall and turn them all on, mmuuhhaaaahhhaaa then just walk away and the whole place is vibrateing because of the noise, lol

plus i can throw stuff at the 17yr olds in the ripspeed section that are contemplateing buying a chrome gear knob or a carbon gearknob, for a car that costs £50 and has a £500 sound system.

i am looking forward to it now.

Don't do it... I bought some new Hellfords wipers for my Bravo and my g/f's Cinq and they are awful after only about 6-8 months... never buying them again. They smear like mad even after cleaning the screen and blades. Saying that the universal refill kit I got for the back wipers is OK, but probably because it doesn't get used as often as the fronts.

Used to use Champion on my old Tipo and never had a problem with them, although they are more expensive. I think they sell the Champion ones at Hellfords too.

Don't use Halfords for the rear if you've got the HGT/HLX spoiler. I used one and it's too wide, pushes the arm into the spoiler and catches.

Still looking for suggestions for a replacement people so any ideas appreciated.

Shabash!
