General oil

hi i am a new onwer of a 1993(k) fiat uno 999cc 3 door with the fire engine.

i have just checked the oil and guess wot its empty grrr

so my question is wot type of oil do i need and how much

15w/40, mineral based or preferably semi-synthetic.

Capacity (with filter change) of a 999cc FIRE is 3.75 litres.

Or if you're topping up the oil, just fill it until it reaches the upper level on the dipstick.

Virtually no difference in it Jon, I'm just going off the top of my head anyhow. The "10" denotes a slightly thinner oil when warm compared with "15", though you can use both. All depends what's available at a special offer!

Cool cool. I'll stick to my 10W40 then. I stocked up when it was being sold at £4.50 for 5L as clearance in Tesco. Only got around 50L sitting in the shed

I'm currently running fully synthetic, 10w/30 I think, in my 70SX. A friend of mine got some at trade price and gave me two 4L cans of the stuff. I changed the oil over 6 months ago and it's only just starting to look dirty
