Just had a coupe 16v engine fitted And the engine sounds sweet.however the oil pressure Reading stays at zero, its only moved when I had a flat battery And I tried to start it And when it was conected up. When flat it went mad! Flicking back Android forth, the engine has fresh oil/filter + makes no odd noises. Anyone have anyknowledge about, these things? could it an electrical fault? The red light is only visable at night/very dim
Any advice would be welcome, I really want to keep the car alive.
cheers

checked the obvious, the sender itself connected?, not entirely sure where it is though.

funny feeling the light is seperate. If it comes on when engine off. but goes out when engine running it should be working correctly, i'd be quite worried if it came on again at any point with engine running.

Also have you noticed the speedo going up when battery flat, not very good acceleration though.

Cheers for getting back to me, there doesn't appear to be any problems with the speedo, and the engine/oil temp are fine (oil always around 90/water beetween 70 - 85). Its funny as the light is very dim, infact in day light you can't see it at all (not saw if its always on), so i though it was a dodgy connection to the sender as the wiring looks like its been taped up at some point.

I did notice today when the cars ignition is left on, without the engine running the pressure gauge goes to full (6bar i think) and just stays there no warning light on. As soon as the engine is started is just sits still below 0.

I'm gonna see if one of the local garages can presure test it at next week + get a new sender as both that have been fitted are very old and dinted.

what do you think?
Cheers Mark
