Hi

I'm a new member and I have a 2008 Bravo 1.6 Eco diesel. I generally do my own servicing on my cars and if i do i and need to get my oil warning reset(i understand it works on oil condition rather than mileage), however when I called my local Fiat dealer(Dublin) they refuse to reset without them doing an oil and filter change, i.e they want to rip me off. My question is, is there another way to get this reset done, or can it only be done by Fiat dealers?

Cheers

David

MES (MultiECUscan.net) software.

They're not ripping you off, they're quite right to only reset it if they've changed the oil, as if you haven't changed it at exactly the same time is can cause serious DPF and potentially fatal engine damage and problems ;)

Thanks for the quick reply. Is the software something i can get myself, and i assume i would need a connector also, what type would i need?

Also i still think theyre just trying to scam me into getting them to change the oil so they can charge me €100+, rather than me doing it myself for about 40. Don't see any difference in resetting the next day or so, still brand new oil after all.

Its all on the MultiECUcan.net website (y)

Having a dig through that website right now, a LOT of information on there, pretty confusing for a Noob like myself :)

Two more questions(sorry), will the Free version do what i need, and will it also reset the airbags?
