I part exed my 2016 plate two months ago for a 72 plate Fiat 500 hybrid dolcevita came with a 3 month warranty .
Spotted oil puddles on my drive my son checked and zero oil showing on dip stick
I know very little about cars and will phone warranty provider and dealer tomorrow just wondering is this likely to be covered ???
Bought from Motorpoint who I have used in the past with no issues .

Model

I would expect a significant oil leak would be covered; the occasional small oil drip, less likely.

The MOT definition of a significant leak is when, with the engine running, it creates a spot on the ground wider than 75mm (3 inches) in 5 minutes. At this level of leakage, the car is not roadworthy and would fail an MOT.

In any case, if it's dropping significant oil on the ground, I'd suggest you don't drive the car. Even a small oil spill on the road could mean death for a motorcyclist.

How often have you checked the oil level by using the dipstick in the 2 months you've had this car?

Thank you for your reply I have not checked the oil since I have had the car it's not something I would usually do .

Put some oil in before you drive it. The level should be just under "MAX" on the dipstick.

You can damage the engine otherwise.

The leak should be covered by the dealer.. you haven't had it very long. The sump can rust and leak on 500's.. but a 2022 seems way too new for that to be an issue here.. so have a look and find out where it's leaking from. Could be quite serious.
