Technical Oil Lamp flashing...!

Hi again guys,

I am so unlucky with my car...! Theres always something to ask you guys for your help. Lately the Oil Lamp is flashing when the car is on idle and it only flashes when the engine is heated. When I tap the accelecrator I will go off and back on when its on idle!!! What shall I do?!?! What does it mean?!?! I checked the Oil level and its good...!

Try an oil and filter change.

Its not a huge problem if it only does it at idle when warm. If it stops flashing the minute the revs are slightly increased it means there is enough pressure under load.

As fingers says, oil and filter time. Use the correct oil.

If the oil level is up the mark then there should be plenty of pressure, even at idle.

I'd bung a new pressure sensor in there, to eliminate a sensor fault. Otherwise you could have an oil pump problem and with any problem, it doesn't get better with age...

Suppose the suggestion of oil & filter was down to it being possible that a blocked filter would reduce the pressure on the other side of it?

When were the oil & filter last changed?

Pressure and quantity are not related, until there is too little of both.

Wear in the engine can lead to low oil pressure at idle. As long as there is enough pressure to support the bearing surfaces while under load ther should not be a sudden failure.

Ok guys! Thanks for your help. Well I booked it for a service as it needs one asap! I hope that the Oil pump and the rest are still good as I had enough spending money on it...!
