General Oil (how much, how often)

Getting a little paranoid as I've used a fair bit of oil in me cinq over the last 6 months, just wondering how much other people use and how often do they need to top up.

Especially paranoid as i've discovered my first black blob on the driveway bet some little sod put some 3 in 1 on it just to wind me up...

My sporting uses a little oil, about a litre maybe between 6k changes. If you use the super expensive 0w40 stuff, I understand it can leak out as it's way too runny for our 'fit where they touch' oil seals. Best to stay with Fiat's reccomendation of 15w40.

Cam covers are a common leak point too. Stick your head underneath the bonnet and try to locate the leak.

Kewl, that's put my mind at rest a bit, I'd estimate I've used 3/4 litre over 6k miles in 6 months, and i'm in thrashers' anonymous [^]

If I am ever getting time off I'll have a good shufy up on blocks.

I found that when i had 10W40 oil it seeped out when it was getting to the end of its life. Now using castrol GTX 15W40 and a new rockercover gasket no seeping oil or drips
