Hey, my good Fiat friends;
I hope there is anyone out there, who could help me with the following questions, concerning the Fiat 500 Twinair 0,9 litre. (y)

1.What type of tool is used to loosen and fasten the oil drain plug on the Fiat 500 Twinair 0,9 litre?

2. What is the correct amount of oil (when the oil filter is changed) for this car?

An correct answer would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for getting the chance to join this forum, it has been most useful this far! :)

Best regards Harald, Norway.

Hi, I have the same TwinAir engine. Recently I have a oil change at a local Fiat Service her in Norway. Paid nearly NOK 2000 for oil and a new oil filter. Although expensive, I personally recommend to stick with the original oil and filter as I wold not gamble on this on a new engine.

1. You will find a 17mm bolt towards the back of the sump.

2. Refill if oil takes 3.2 liters for sump and filter, 2.8 liters for sump only.

Please read this guide

Good luck. :)

My Fiat Friend,
I've now used Your Guide twice, I found it very Informative and Useful. I do have a couple of Questions, after having some Experience now:
1) I've bought a brand New Bolt and copper Washer for the Sump for each Time. When I fitted the Bolt last Year, I could clearly feel the Washer deform. When I performed the same this Year, I couldn't feel the same, the Bolt just fastened gradually - there was no sudden "weak" Feeling when the Washer "gave in" before the Bolt fastened, if You know what I mean. I checked the Bolt, and don't dare to fasten it any further, I'm afraid to use to much Force.
2) The Top of the Filter Housing is to be Fastened With 25Nm. I found it quite difficult to measure the exact Nm, due to the Fact that I had to use Tool with a Joint and Extension to Access the Filter Housing Top. So my Nm Key showed about 30-35Nm, the joint and extension tool seem to
pull up some of the Force when tightening the Top of the Filter Housing. Advice would be very much Appreciated. Thanks.

Hello again,
No, I didn't reset the oil temperature indicator - actually I forgot. And, know I don't understand how, either?
If someone knows, please let me know too.

My Fiat Friend,
I've now used nemschenks found Guide, which is found here, twice, I found it very Informative and Useful. I do have a couple of Questions, after having some Experience now:

3) Is it necessary to reset the oil temperature Inducator, If yes, then how? Does somebody know?

Advice very much appreciated.
