Technical Oh my gasket! poorly Sei

My gray sei sporting abarth has died, I need a new head gasket and water pump it seems. It started to over heat on my way to pick my girlfriend up form work, so i pulled it over and rang the RAC. To my disbelief it was going to take them two and a half hours to get to me, so i drove home having regular over heating stops.

I took it to the garage and was told my head gasket had gone and to by some K seal to repair it. I have emptied it into the system but the water just keeps over heating in the bottle which makes me think the waters not getting around to where it needs to be. Am not exactly great with knowledge on cars to fix it myself so i think am just gonna move onto another car.

Chances are that there was air in the system when you filled it with water, try filling it again and bleeding the system.

I was having this problem, so i replaced the thermostat, removed the rad and flushed it through and jet washed it and the cars been fine since. Just make sure you bleed the system when replacing coolant.

Is the coolant level disappearing rapidly? Or is the coolant just getting to hot?

It just seems to get hot and boil over when it reaches temperature. After the car it turned off i can hear bubbling in the tubes etc and not just in the water bottle.

A head gasket failure is usually an effect rather than a cause. So look for the cause.
