Was cleaning the 500 today and discovered I have scratched the front left hand wheel trim, probably on the kerb outside our house, when I was parking up (I do find it hard to see exactly how far I am from the kerb using the wing mirror unless I move it to show the kerb... maybe just me..) anyway I would like to touch it up for now and see there are kits on ebay. Anyone can recommend what is best to use please??

If we're selling a car with fairly light scuffs on a wheel trim, we lightly rub down the marks with fine wet & dry paper ond do a "local" spray using an aerosol can of "wheel silver" paint. Then laquer over.
If it's a wheel trim and not an alloy, is it not cheap enough to just buy a replacement. Might be worth asking.

If its a wheel trim rather than an alloy wheel, then just pop down to PDH to get a set, then you'll have some spare.
If its an alloy wheel, I know a mobile re-fub guy that does work on Merc etc, did my smart roadie once and then my A-Class, after taking rather a large chunk out on a kerb due to some lorry driver...
He works round the Brighton area.

Sorry to hear about your wheel ...hope you can fix it without too much expense
They are the standard wheel trim so yes may just get a new set from PDH but I might also try the repair job in the meantime. Thanks for the replies.
Well people don't really do repair jobs on wheel trims as it's probably less costly just to buy a new trim.
I did a touch up job on the wheel with some silver paint from Halfords and its not great but its better. Will do till I get around to buying a spare set of trims, When I looked at the curb I thought I'd done it On it cant be that as the curb is too low. Now thinking OH Did it when I let him take the car out one weekend recently ......though he his denying it!! it cant have been me becuase outside the house is the only place I could have done it , so he's goning to have to BEG next time I let him go out in it!!!!

Hmm, intersting. I think they are about £21 each from the dealer! Maybe I will get one of these off ebay
