hi, i've got a 1.6 sx and wanna put 17"s on whats the best offset to get em in, is it ok to lower it 40mm aswell? cheers people

std offset 38 I think. 35-40 is ok tho.
Lowering can go 60+ so 40 not enough for some ;)

what nice said. so long as you get 17x7" rims you should be fine with a 60mm drop. i suspect you might have to take out your rear arch liners though. do you really wanna go that low? thats gonna make for a bit of a bone-shaker imho

nah i'll only go 40mm, to many speed humps round my area for 60mm, i've only just got a bravo they're pretty low anyways which is cool

If you have a 7.5Jx17 rim your offset will change, most probably decrease as the rim is wider. The offset of 38 applies to the std rims.
You have to do a bit of maths and work out the new offset given you have a wider rim.
