Occasional trouble connecting

Occasional over the past week I had minor trouble with slow connection,


Kinda has a hiccup then works properly again


Other forums are fine, normally it doesn't time out like in the screenshot, more a pause of 5 to 10 seconds, either loading a page or posting

Yeah sorry about that, we were getting absolutely hammered by something - I did my best to mitigate it, but in the end we just had to wait it out.

I think I've narrowed it down to where this is coming from.

If it happens again, I've got a firewall rule ready to enable which will hopefully mitigate it. (I don't want to enable it yet in case I'm wrong)

Strange thing I noticed

If it hiccups

If I turn off WiFi on my phone and back on again, it often but not always starts behaving again

Not sure how this helps, as I haven't switched the router off so the IP addresses is the same ?

Sadly my rule didn't work - but I was able to get on the server live whilst it was happening and tried something else.
