they ban hosepipes as people tend to leave them running, plus they all leak. lol

My incentive is my water bill, thats why i installed 420gallons worth of water butts. lol

yeah my dads gone mental with the water buts. one is 8ft high and 10ft long! also use rainwater to flush toilets.

There's been a hosepipe ban in my area for quite a few months now.... very annoying, but you get used to it.

My missus works for the local water board, and gets loads of stick about it.

If you do have a ban in your area, do not use your hosepipe...

1st time caught, you get a letter. 2nd time you get a visit from an official, and the 3rd time, it's court and HUGE fine...

I can say, hand on heart, theres NEVER been a shortage of water where i live. It just doesn't stop raining, lol.

If you guys in England are short of water so regularly, its a wonder they dont build a big fat water pipeline from up here to down there. I cant imagine ever being told not to use a hosepipe in the garden, lol. that must suck. what happens if you ignore it though? a visit from PC Plod?

£1000 fine it says in my local paper it sucks especially wen u gotta run back and forth to fill a bucket from the HOSEPIPE. its bloody ridiculous n my old dear wouldnt let me use the hose. :( . i was told ur be fukin payin the fine etc etc just easier to use a bucket. i normally jetwash it down, then clean, then jetwash again and then leather then wax. but not today buckets all round n couldnt b arsed to wax by then.

i've got a hose, but it only takes 2 soapy buckets and 2 rinsing buckets to wash a bravo, so not too much hassle. we've got a pressure washer, that i get out every few months to give a blast round the underside of the car, and in at the wheel arches. but thats about it. mostly done by hand.

there are pipes all over the place and huge resevoirs above and under ground, we are still short already! We did have quite a dry winter but what people don't realise is how much water is lost underground due to leaking pipes. An official from london water once told me that if their pipe leaks were stopped all the trees on residential streets would die as they wouldn't catch enough rain water to live :S

London Water lose around 60% of their water thru underground leaks!! Scary.

Didn't stop raining here yesterday; the front street was more like a river! (edit) Even the access grids in the road were spraying out water about a foot into the air!! Was like a mini fountain!
Driving down the road last night at 20mph with wipers on full speed and STILL couldn't see where I was going!!
Its hard to believe people actually want to put a ban on hosepipes when all it does in this country is bloody rain!! lol!!
