i have a bravo with red key only.
went to start yesterday and nothing,as if immobolised.was low on fuel so got a couple
of cans to top up....nothing.pushed the reset fuel switch and
disconnected battery. reconnected and it started immediately, warmed car up turned off, removed key and tried to restart...nothing.
red fuel/ignition warning light is on,hasn't started sinse.
phoned fiat they said need blue key,but getting conflicting views.......can anyone help please

If the injector light is on and not the key light its not the immobilizer, it something else.
The engine size would help and by the sound you will need a diagnostic check done.
But to be sure, go get a blue key cut out - as I remember Timpsons (or what they are called cut the keys).

As Sven says, Timpsons will do it but any good locksmith can do it. Cost about £30 now. Good idea to have 2 done

thanks guys,
100sx 1600ish
i still don't understand why you need another
key cut?
i went to a locksmith who cuts these blue keys,he said it won't do anything different because it would be just a clone of the red key....very confusing

In general it wont do, but the red key is usually used to program new keys or to do work on the immobilizer, so it can trigger some unwanted functions.

But if the KEY light goes off, then the immobilizer ain't at fault. If the injector light stays on, its a fault engine side.
