Oh dear the battery is dead barely 1.5 years after changing it under warranty!!! What kind of ghetto batteries do they use? Waiting for the recovery truck but to be honest looks pretty terminal to me as car wont have any electronics at all and i didnt leave anything on when i last used the car 2 hours ago!

I helped another car jump start 2 days ago but surely jump starting another car shouldnt kill my battery?

They likely fitted the cheapest battery they could get away with to see the car to the end of its warranty period.

At least you can now buy something decent and the new battery will have a proper warranty.

It's most unlikely jumpstarting another car would have damaged it unless it was about to fail anyway.

How long were you in turkey for?

2 Weeks. This is exactly the same symptom as the last time this happened as in car wont start at all and when i am driving after jump starting with a mobile charger the voltage drops and i barely made it home. So basically new battery!
Both of the batteries i have had so far have lasted basically exactly the same amount 1.5 years!
Should i get one with higher amps? Or is the stock 42Ah 390a good enough? I am not so smart with those numbers so i have no idea so any help would be appreciated thank you.

Thanks for the info. I am planning on replacing it with the bosch s4000 42ah 390a.
Is there a better battery i can get perhaps? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tbh I wouldn't say it's the battery. The alternator in my car doesn't do the best job of keeping the battery topped up during normal use. A ctek smart charger would probably top the battery up and give you years more use out of it.

but the same thing happened last time and the dealer replaced the battery. The alternator should be able to charge the battery again under use and the battery was not maintaining any voltage even during driving. This + the fact that I didnt leave any lights on at all suggest a battery issue.

I thought the battery in my 500 was dead in the winter so I bought another battery, I got out of the winter without having to replace the battery, but there came a point where you could just feel that the car wasn't starting well, so I bought the Ctek, charged the battery up and it's much better now.

How far do you drive to and from work?

Like 5-10 km but i drive around 30 km a day hard driving taking it up to 6000 rpm daily so 70% traffic/ 30% open road. I always drive with my lights on:

I checked my car and the battery the dealer gave me was 320/ 42ah not 390/42ah. Will that have made a difference?

I am om the way to bosch now check engine light on and mileage flashing lets hope they can deal with it!

Ok went to bosch replaced battery with a 52ah battery. No more flashing mileage no check engine. Lets hope this one lasts longer as i put a more powerful battery in!
