Newcomer to the forum, fantastic to find like minded people who adore the Bravo.
I live in Ireland, where Bravo appreciation is limited!
Anyway, I have a 99 1.2 16v Bravo. Running sweet, with 98k miles. Only problems I've had was:
Passenger side window motor went
Front wiper motor just started blowing fuses
3 times the price of a 1.4 exhaust for a 1.2 exhaust!!!

My only real concern is my engine. Starting to make a slight rattle when driving at 60ish. I want to plan ahead and search out a good replacement engine. Good Bravo engines are hard to find, but I heard the 1.2 punto engine is the same? Is this true, and if so, what version punto is best?

Dragged out question, but I'd really appreciate any advice. I'm gonna keep my Bravo 'til I get the bus pass!

Good to see a fellow Mick on the site...where u based?

I've also head Punto engines are the same, but only advice I can offer you is that the gearbox's from the Punto 60 (1.2 8V) fit onto a Bravo 1.2 16V.

I know this because I've done it, and also a few other people have followed on since the 1.2 16V has a tendancy to go through gearbox's, and Bravo gearbox's are £1000 from Fiat? Whereas you can pickup a Punto 60 Gearbox for £100.

Bit of a difference.

Slightly shorter ratio too, so quicker acceleration. Makes the 1.2 slightly nippier.

Not sure about the engine though.

but won't the speedo be out Ian?
this would be a good fix for me :)
