hi all

I have a M reg Punto i picked it up for £70 pounds and brought it home to break and sell on the bits BUT it has 58000k on the clock a few dents here and there but is a very tidy little car, So here is my problem

The car has been sat for 3 years and doesnt wanna start jump leads to battery from my nissan it turns over but doesnt fire up,after taken the airbow off and pouring petrol in she trys to start and then cuts out,

Pressure is in the tank, once i try to start, i have taken fuel pipe inlet off and loking for and even sucked for fuel, Sucking just makes me feel sick as i get a mouth full of petrol but petrol is coming through but only slowing

Is this the fuel pump Relay or the pump, or injector?????????????????

please help im not going to break this little car up for a small blockage if it was a heap then ok but its a nice little motor for a young driver

Thanks

just found a blue pipe beoken off what i think is the fuel relay

But im not sure, i have read that the fuel relay is up near the winscreen

but all the pipes and leads suggest otherwise

I have found this relay above(attached by plastic) a large plastic box which im thinking is a fuel filter(not Sure)

part number on the relay says (37150 028 EC1/00) I have a small blue pipe that is broken off the plastic, The relay is found behind the O/S/Head light

Could this be my fault

Battery is still flat but attched i cant hear the fuel pump kick in at all

But there is pressure in the tank to me this means the fuel pump is working, Am i right to think this

You've found that charcoal cannister, not the fuel pump.

Its trying to start if you pour fuel in the TB, so its getting a spark, thats a good thing.

No buzz on ignition would suggest a fuel pump/relay problem. Lay in a temp direct power feed to the pump to check it. They are reliable but only if used regularly.

Fuel can turn to jelly if left, will also lose its explosive properties, once you've got the pump running you could add a fuel reviver compound.

Cheers

You well Right lol lol

What a mong, Well we all learn new things everyday

Yesterday while messing about with the car the fuel relay was ticking but still no sign(hearing) of the fuel pump but pressure does build up in the tank when trying to start

A guy mentioned a earthing problem, Might sell the bloody car for £100 quid lol

Thanks for your help guys keep it coming
