Technical non-running jtd

Just purchased a 53 plate 2.0l jtd as a non-runner and suprise, suprise it does not run. It will turn over all day, fire on easy start (but not continue running) and has diesel at the injectors. Any ideas?

Sounds like you need to go on Diagnostic check to see what error codes have been generated.Could be untold number of causes.Some basic checks you could do.Check fuel level and is it Diesel in the tank?Is the battery voltage ok? need at least 9volts.
Is the immobolizer light flashing when turning over? As the car been serviced recently check fuel and air filter.

I can clear all the codes with a friends tool but when I try to restart it reads PO340.

According to the info I can find, P0340 is
Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction. Hope this helps.

Do you know where the camshaft position sensor is located?

i had a one like it turned out to be one injector it was letting to much fuel threw so would not fire get an injector test

had a similar problem - when I went to the main dealer his diagnostic showed up different codes from what I was getting. Turned out to be the rev sensor plug was not connected properly. (Unfortunately the diagnostic cost £40)
