Technical non runner Coupe please help relay problem

Right so i finally brought a fiat coupe. Ant i went all out and got the 20v turbo version . Anyway i brought it from a car auction so i was unable to test drive it. But the condition was fantastic and it came with a huge amount of history and recipts so i thought everything should be ok.
When i jumped in it to drive it home there seemed to be a problem where around 4500-5000 rpm the car would cut out for a split second and then give you all the power back then cut out and so on and so forth, until you either changed gear or it sorted itself out.
I looked on the internet and there was something about the boost control valve so i cleaned it but it didnt seem to make any difference. Anyway earlier today the car statrted kangerooing again but this time it carried on doing it no matter what i did until eventually it cut out and wouldt restart. I pushed it home and now when i turn on the ignition or try and start it both the relays (one is a fuel relay) under the glovebox are clicking like mad and the car wont start.

Please please help me as i really do internd to keep her for a bit thanks guys.

I also forgot to say my car is a 1998 2.0 20v turbo right hand drive. and when i crank the car the rpm gauge goes to 3000.

if they are clicking source some new relays, should sort it Check earth leads too

I have tried new relays but it hasnt helped. and i have cleaned the earth connections that attach to the chassis by the battery. but to no avail. what do the two relays do i know one is the fuel pump relay what is the other thanks loz

Sounds like not enough fuel until no fuel going in or its not being ignited, check fuel pump, may have gone south, sounds like it was working at first and already faulty where it did not have enough oomph to supply fuel at higher rpm and as it gradually lost pressure your problem got worse until it just stopped pumpping.
Also check the coils are all sparking, 20vt has 5 individual one. May be a good idea to plug the car into and examiner to see what it says.

Think this issue has now been resolved by a members advice on fccuk, if i'm right it was a very bad earth. The one on the back of the engine
