does anyone know if they sell better batteries for noka n90?

mine lasts less than 8 hours :( charged until it says- battery full (overnight)

its so annoying, especially today, because just before i went out, it had run out :bang: damn thing.

let me know! its pissing me off!

I heard these Nokia Batteries have to "wear" in first, graudually the battery life should get longer.

Give it a week or so, if it still messes you about, charge it for a full 24 hours and see if its any better afterwards.

Never charge a battery before its empty or virtually empty otherwise you will decrease the battery life.

i have had it since xmas, think it would be 'run in' by now :)

and when it comes up battery full, it stops charging.

It may look like its stopped but its most likely a visual representaion, keep it on charge.

One of a few things has happened.

1) The battery is knackerd and you need a new one.

2) You were meant to charge it for 30 hours on first use or some other high number like that and now its too late.

3) You caught that bluetooth Virus and the symptoms are excessive battery use.

4) Your battery is gay.

if you didnt charge it for ATLEAST 16 hours with the supplied charger not just an old one lying about then it will last 5 days, i'd say you cocked it up by playing on it or one of the other things i said
i obviously used the supplied charger because nokia have changed there charger (at last  lol)

oh and i also have bluetooth OFF, as its said that wastes the battery.

you just answered your own question, you've buggered the battery, buy a new one, cost about £30

Nokia 6680/N70 batteries have a 24month warranty (an extra 12 months on the normal warranty) and are a known fault with some handsets (well batteries) i know i've been through two 6680 batteries (and a handset!) and i've only had it since october i think

Then run a test, charge it till full and don't use it, see how long it lasts.

I think you may need a new battery though as you didn't charge it for the recommeneded time when it was new.

Must be charged for just over half a day on first use, that means no calls in between or during the charge.

That's not an issue nowadays. It used to be the case with old NiCd batterries, an then to a less extent with NiMh batterries. Then Li-ion batteries came out, and they didn't have a problem with this 'memory effect'.
As you say, the first charge is important though.
