Head gasket on my 1994 Uno Cento was repaired yesterday. However the shims(?) are very noisy - I went back and asked the mechanic, and he said they were replaced within spec, but apparently not perfect, as Uno sounds like a diesel at present. According to mechanic this will not affect/hurt the engine, its just noise? He also said he could take off the tapet cover and try and inter-change the shims to get a better fit, or try and get them closer to perfect...
I dabble in fixing stuff on my own car, like brakes, minor servicing etc, but do not have the knowledge about this issue.
