I live next door to a pub and their music is ridiculously loud! It is even worse on a weekend.
They have a live band every saturday night and at the moment, all i can hear is the extremely loud music they are playing!!! It is driving me insane. I can feel the vibrations through the floor too, made worse by my laminate flooring im sure.

It is OTT as it is only a pub, not a concert. Why they feel the need to play it that loud is beyond me. I have put up with it for months and months and now ive had enough of it. It is going to go on all night till 11.30-12 and i cant hear my own tv.

I know it is loud becuase im half deaf and i can still hear it clear as anything. I can even sing along too.

grrrrrrr:mad::bang:

rant over

Allo Whiterose.
I worked at the Manor Hospital in Walsall in the late 70s.
Loved the town, loved the Arboretum.
So sorry that you can't find peace where you live. How old is your child, are they upset by the noise?
I can't help you but I sympathise with your troubles.

check they have the right licences with the council first. 9 times out of ten, they havent.

i would suspect they havent got the licence if previous owners didnt do this sort of thing and they only had the pub a year, and you havent been notified or seen an application for change in licencing for music.

a place near to where someone i know lived was doing this every saturday night, and on enqiring with council if they had the licence they said, 'god no, the building wont contain any noise so its been refused' and then was duly prosecuted

I agree with everyone else check what licenses they got, as then you might have a claim against them.

Its a little incosiderate of them to play it that loud, I work in a little country pub back home and when the current owners took over they spoke to local people who lived on the road and checked it werent too loud when they had live bands playing so to keep the peace.

There are people in this block who like to play music at 5am so loud I can sing along as well and like you I am hard of hearing.

Could you possibly record the sound levels on a video camera or a dictaphone or something as proof?

Sounds completely unreasonable to me (and I live a hundred miles away). Sorry couldn't resist the silly joke.
This would drive me mad and I would follow all the advice of those above and try to get it stopped. Pound to a penny it is not authorised.
Good luck girl. Put your foot down!

It must be loud if you cant here your own TV.
Though if i chose to live next to a pub id expect noise.
As with most things, it comes down to what is reasonable and what is unreasonable. I am sure Whiterose expected some noise living next to a pub, but she didn't move next to a rock music venue with no soundproofing!

I can't help you with specifics, but we have a pub about 100 yards away from
us with a late licence and in Summer they have the fire escape door from the function room open to let some fresh air in; and the music out. It took some doing, but by complaining to the Police and the Council about the noise on a regular basis we ended up with new Licencees and reduced noise.
