my car is making a real loud tapping,crunching,bangng sound turning to the left.i know the strut on the left needs replacing. could this be the cv joint or a gear box problem.
wouldnt say wheel bearing as they usually just whine/grind.
What about the driveshaft/cv joint like you say? They normally click/grind when theyve had it everytime you turn.Had to replace the whole shaft on 1 of my cars as it was a whole part. and funny enough it was everytime i turned left.
i tryed to drive it today, it's worse after i took the weel off last night, very loud banging and crunching and loosing drive and effecting the stearing too. i have orderd a brand new cv joint, when it may have been easy to have replaced the hole shaft.
