Hi there I have a 2005 swb Ducato with a wheel bearing type noise on the front. The thing is, is that sometimers it's louder than other times and sometimers goes away. It doesn't increase when turning hard right or left and when jacked up has no play on either side. Could it be something on the other end of the driveshaft and if so what is this bearing called? Please help as out in France and need to get it sorted.

Cheers

I've always found that long slow bends (30mph) have helped me identified which wheel sounds like your traveling on the district line.
Never failed.
good luck

It is very well possible the tires make the noise you're suffering!
It's called "cupped tread" or "gator tread".
Change front and rear tires (keep them on the same side of the car) and find out if the noise is different or disappears.
