Technical No power.!!

Hi there, i need assistance please. I have a Fiat uno 1100, this morning i drove to work and it suddenly sounded like a back fire noise, then it lost power. It will start (difficult) but will not rev up, if i let go of the accelerator there is a small bit of power. 1st gear level road, any uphill is a no go.
Any advise please.
