Hi, I'm new to the forum and have a new Fiat 500 POP. It's fairly basic and therefore I only realised today that I don't have a cigarette lighter. I don't smoke anyway, but I do need to be able to inflate my inflatable kayak and have used the cigarette lighter as power for an air-pump in my previous cars. I have Blue and Me in the 500 and wondered if anybody can advise is there any device/adaptor that can take power from the USB port to power a small air-pump so that I can inflate my inflatable kayak this summer? Strange question maybe, but I haven't got a clue how to find out. Any advice would be welcome. Many thanks.

Why don't you just plug the air pump into the 12v socket next to the USB port in front of the gearstick???

All 500 have a 12v socket as standard. What you don't get is the 'Smoking Kit' (lighter insert and ashtray) as standard.

Call me old fashioned, but I still think the Smoking Kit aka Lighter and Ashtray should be standard on all cars ... The ashtray is always a good place to stash loose change ... without it, I feel that I am getting less, but still paying the same and being forced into being in the PC brigade against smoking.

P.S. I don't smoke.

It's nothing to do with the PC brigade :p

It's manufacturers wanting to make more money. In the 500 you can still put your change in the space where the ashtray would normally go anyway...

The Abarth is pretty highly specified as standard though isn't it, not exactly trying to be a 'poverty spec' car is it.

Not sure I would call a cigarette lighter and a plastic tub high spec but fair enough.
