I have just Received a Nitrogen compressor at my work and been asked to sell Nit refills.......After being very skeptical of Nitrogen in tyres, ie. increased tyre wear (only noticeable if up and down the M6 every week) i decided to fill mine up anyway...Just to show the guys how it works.....
Rather strangely I noticed a big difference on the drive home.....Tyres felt really Hard (could feel the usual bumps more) and the response of the steering felt improved.....Not wanting to say anything to my underlings i kept quiet....the following day all my employees filled there tyres with Nitrogen....(why not its free). All of them commented on how the drive felt different. From Clapped out escorts to well looked after Civics.....
i am almost on the verge of being convinced there could be something to the Nitrogen rather than Air.......After all if i have to sell it i need to be assured of the benefit

Has anyone had the Nitrogen Refills, and any Thoughts on the subject? or are we all just Mad?

its meant to be lighter so you benefit from better fuel economy :) always meant to get it done but never keep a car longer than 15k or 1 set of tyres so no points as yet to pay the 5 bucks per tyre :)

5 bucks per tyre...holy crap...only £1 per tyre in my shop........think i must be missing out.......

To be fair Nitrogen is lighter but that said, we are only talking about emptying the loose change out of the ashtray....a few grams at the most. and the saving on mileage would only be a few hundred miles over the natural life of the tyre under normal conditions......

The biggest benefit that i can see as a Supplier would be that it is Dry..I.E not moisture in the tyre, and Reducing the chance of Leakage from the rims due to corrosion. At the moment i am doing 5 to 10 Inner Rim Refurbishments a week, cos of Corrosion on Alloys.....am seeing more and more rim leaks (seal between Tyre and Alloy) Not only on older cars but the last 2 i done were on 08 plates. Either the quality of the Finish is going down hill or the crap on the roads ( Salt/Chemicals) are speeding the process up. Am looking to market it on that basis. £25 a inner refurb (sanding, respray, valve, balance) then £4 for the 4 tyres Nitroed.

Thoughts please....

id need to sort out the punture first before trying it :D
and the price i said was about 5 years ago :D

Cool, used Farmers when I got my Dunlops and had the tracking done - managed to mangle my centre caps a decent amount though so not entirely sure about the quality of service there. Still, tyres and tracking were reasonably priced so shall maybe look into it. Shall just remember to remove my centre caps before I go in

We give a good Service, well in my branch anyway.......Wheels will not need to be removed, just drive in Plug in Lines and away the machine goes.....so hopefully it will be a painless experience....Unless you fancy Nipping into Edinburgh

Wish I could, however my work is governed by idiots and a management system who know not the correct way to allocate resources. For example, today I was covering the warehouse, shop floor and the checkouts pretty much all at once. Oh and customer enquiries too. I'm amazed if we have more than 5 staff in that place at one time - helpful during the festive period as well :p

One of the main requirements for next job...I won't be working weekends

Hate to have to say this Rob, but that's retail for you, that's why I hate my job & want to get out of retail.

I was thinking about applying for a job at Loudon Castle theme park, but there are rumors that it is going to be closed down.
So I'm now concidering contacting M&D Taylors at Strathclyde Park, see about getting a job there.

Jhono, I hve a qestion about the Nitrogen, how would it affect tyre wear?? increase or decrease?? jusfound out that my Pirelli's are almost illeagal:fie::stunned::blink::suicide2:, and they were only done back in feb by Unce Arine...

Steve (Clock) how good are Camskill?? how well do you know them?? any chance of getting discount??
