As one of my Philips Motovision bulbs blew a few weeks ago, I decided to invest in some Nightbreaker Plus bulbs as the motovisions aren't cheap. At the same time I also went for some H1 Nightbreaker Plus bulbs for the highbeams as I would say this is the only area of lighting where the 500 could be better.

Have to say they are very good and the high beams throw light further as you'd expect. Low beam isn't noticeably better.

Not 100% sold on them for the dipped beams as I did get flashed by a few people on my drive just before so they're obviously more jarring than the Motovisions which I don't like tbh. The rationale behind the Motovisions was getting more light but also dazzling people less and they did that well.

I put Philips vision extremes in headlights of our TA.
Can't really say there is a day and night difference (pardon the pun)
Thinking of trying those Nightbreakers in hi beam.
Maxi, are the DLR/Hi beam H1's?

I had the Osram Nightbreaker plus' in my 500 for about year and was impressed with them (as low beams) greatly.:)

Unfortunately 1 of them blew on new years eve as I was driving up to Stourbridge. So I thought I would try something different, I actually tried the other popular ones the Phillips Extreme.

I find the extremes to be much whiter on the road and I don't get flashed for dazzling other drivers. They "throw" the light a lot further up the road than my old Osrams but don't seem to dazzle.:D

Was thinking of getting a pair for the high beams, but they are not cheap so they will have to wait a while. Just had a huge bill to pay out for (not 500 related) so all my "car improvement fund" has gone out....really wanted to get those rear speakers changed out as well grrrrerr.:bang:

Well, one of the nightbreaker plus' I put in for the low beam has died. Pretty disappointed tbh. The motovisions lasted something like 3 years before one went pop. The nightbreakers have lasted 11 months which is just crap.

Osram won't be getting a penny of my money again, it was more or less the same story with the ones I put in the Subaru. Yes, they chuck a fair chunk more light out, but at the expense of life and compared to the motovisions you're going to end up driving with a light out 3 times more often with Nightbreakers and that's just stupid.
