Hi all just thought I'd say hello and join the forum as I've just purchased a 2003 Ulysses 2.0 JTD 16v ELEGANZA but don't pick up for 2weeks as needs a couple of jobs doing and waiting on cheque of my insurance due to some kind person running into the side of me, didn't plan on getting a fiat but travelled the country looking at 7 seaters as I wanted I galaxy,Alhambra or sharan but for the money I had to spend they were all rust buckets, then looked at a few C8's and 807's but didn't like the front end, then noticed this Ulysses and liked the look of it and was in good condition, I've had all the remarks of why you got a fiat nothing but trouble but was told that about my last car which was a scenic 2 and it never missed a beat, all cars have there problems, it's just the luck of the draw as I had a brand new zafira and that spent most of its time in the garage, hope there's plenty of help on here as look forward to the info(y)

Hi, yes they do have faults but they are mostly detailed so easy to fix ( apart from the leaky sunroofs!). Plenty of knackered ones to source parts from now too.

They are a good car for the money, especially the Prestigio model, and yes the Fiat is the best looking! At least you can tell those sceptics that it's really a Peugeot in disguise!!

P.S. get he cambelt changed ASAP!!!

Thanks for the advice and will get cambelt done, it's got paperwork saying belt was done at 74,000 and it's done 112,000 now but will get done to be on safe side as I'm a firm believer or changing them and thankfully no sunroofs (y)

Also check if it has got the drip tray mod fitted, if not buy one, they cost about £20.

Buy the cambelt kit with the waterpump too, I'd recommend the Gates kit which you should pick up for about £120 but has everything you need including the pump. Your local garage should charge between £120-£150 labour to fit it all.

Thanks again Fran I've been quoted about £200 all in as I've got a mate that will do it, I'm mechanically minded as I used to be a bike mechanic but don't have the specialist tools to do it myself and if somebody else does it I'm covered warranty wise and with the drip tray was it not a recall and will fiat stand it?

Will do but I get the parts at cost as I know bloke who owns garage
